RentMeter Privacy Policy

RentMeter helps property owners manage rental properties, PGs, hostels and guest stays. This Privacy Policy explains how RentMeter collects, uses, stores and protects information when you use our mobile application.

Information we collect

• Account information: mobile number, name and Firebase account identifier used for OTP sign-in.
• Property-management information: property, room, bed, tenant or guest, rent, payment, expense, occupancy and reminder details you choose to enter.
• Optional files and photos: profile photos or documents you choose to upload for a tenant or property record.
• Device and notification information: notification token and basic technical information required to deliver app notifications and keep the app reliable.

How we use information

We use information to authenticate your account, provide property-management features, securely sync your records, calculate reports, send reminders and notifications that you request or enable, provide support, and protect the app from misuse.

Data sharing

RentMeter does not sell your personal information. Data is shared only with service providers needed to operate the app, including Firebase/Google Cloud for authentication, database, file storage, notifications and app infrastructure; and with communication providers when you explicitly use a call, WhatsApp or OTP feature. We may disclose information if legally required.

Data storage and security

Your data is stored using Firebase and Google Cloud services. Access to property data is restricted to the authenticated account and authorised users through application security rules. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, but we use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect data.

Your choices and data deletion

You can edit or remove information you entered from the app where those controls are available. To permanently delete an account and associated data, use the in-app Delete Account option or follow the instructions on our account deletion page. We may retain limited information where required for legal, fraud-prevention or operational purposes.

Children's privacy

RentMeter is intended for property owners and business users and is not directed to children under 18.

We may update this policy when our services or legal requirements change. The latest version will always be available at this URL, with the updated date shown above.
